Arrived Kunming International Airport.

When we reached Yunnan, it was already 11:00pm. Exhausted, we trudged into the arrival hall of Kunming International Airport. Condition? I would say it was something like Lapangan Terbang Sultan Ismail Petra. Only bigger and older.

Ben gathered all of us at one corner and started briefing. Ya know, the typical "where to collect luggages", "where is the loo", "tomolo we are going to…" kinda instructions. He filled up all our country entry forms. Pampered, all we did was affixing a signature. Jun Yee, there goes our backpacking plan.

Stepped out of the building and a gush of icy wind shook off all sleepiness. Familiar excitement, I was reminded of our very first cold-weather-experience in Japan years back. It was about 6 degree Celsius.

We carried our belongings into a bus waiting nearby. There, we met another tour guide. This time, it was a Chinese lady. She introduced herself as "xiao3 xiao1". (No good laughing at people’s name) Anyway, from the airport to our hotel, it was about 15 minutes drive. Xiao introduced us to Kunming:

  • Also nick named "Spring City" coz it does not have severe winters or hot summers throughout the year.
  • Natural features of all four seasons are clearly defined.
  • Largest city in Yunnan Province.
  • Famous city of history & culture, excellent tourism city of China.
  • Check out more.

Reached hotel, took a shower and hit the sack.

Day2, GO.
